Ecological Niche Modelling (since 2008)

We will build ecological niche models for more than 100 European plant species typical for habitats influenced by water (rivers, lakes, fens). The main tasks of the project comprise

• Compilation of a geo-referenced database of the distribution of the selected plant species and environmental (especially hydrological and climatic) parameters
• Computation of the Ecological Niche Models
• Simulation of the range shifts of the selected species driven by climate change based on several IPPC-Scenarios
• Testing the niche conservatism and dispersal limitation-Hypotheses based on a comparison of actual and post-glaical ranges of the species
